Summer Learning - Collage Friday

This summer we are studying plant science. I anticipate this will be a regular summer study. We have 2 large gardens, and own 63 acres of farm land, plus there is another 800 or so acres my husband helps his dad farm. Both of my girls have been going out to the garden or farm since they were a few weeks old.

This week the smell of corn pollen has been hanging thickly in our air. So we had a discussion about plant pollination on our 15 minute drive to swimming lessons. The girls were fascinated, and wanted to hear more on the way home. Then we visited our corn field and examined the tassels and silks. Last night we examined and interacted with lots of plants at our farm garden.

Next week will be an animal science week. We will spend lots of time at our county fair.

Learning is everywhere around us. "School" is never really "out" at our home.
